Tuesday - Happy Birthday, Kelsey! Gary stayed home and I went and visited my friends at the Chancery Office and ran errands.
Wednesday - We went to a morning appointment and then to the airport to pick up Ben, who arrived from Michigan. We brought him back to the motorhome to unpack, went to Monk's for refreshments and then met Katie, Jordan and the boys at Taste of the Apple for a pizza supper. A beautiful day and evening, we were able to eat outside.
Thursday - we all slept in (Ben stayed with us in the motorhome) and then met Dot for lunch at Casa Del Ray. We had a great three hour visit with her. We went to Katie's that night so Ben could see his nephews.
Friday - Gary and Ben dropped me off at Katie's to get some laundry done and they went to visit Gary's Uncle Louie. We picked up groceries on the way home and then met friends mid-afternoon at McNally's. Supper again at Katie's, we said our goodbyes to all of them for the month as we head to North Dakota.
Saturday and Sunday - With Ben along, we drove to Big Stone Lake and Hartford Beach State Park in the northeast corner of South Dakota. Ben's in-laws, Michelle and Scott have a lake cabin there. We got the motorhome set up in the park and then drove over to the cabin to spend the afternoon and evening. Kelsey's sister, Alysha and her husband Ben were there too. It was good for our Ben to spend time with them. A storm rolled through after we arrived, it rained and blew hard for awhile, but then cleared up. We played games and had a great burger/brat supper. Thank you, Scott and Michelle for great food and great visit.
Sunday we drove to Milbank for Mass and then to the cabin for brunch. We were able to sit outside that day, the sun felt good. Still too windy to get out on the lake. We watched football and played dominos. Late afternoon they put everything away and headed back to Sioux Falls. Michelle and Scott took Ben back to town to stay with Katie's for his last three days visiting. Gary and I went back to the motorhome at the state park and took a hike around the park, looking at all the beautiful fall foilage. We had a beautiful evening, but the mosquitos were so bad, we could not be outside.
